AI Transparency Notice

This Notice describes AI-assisted answers that may appear in the 4Search network. The feature is currently enabled. The configured provider is OpenAI.
1. Automated generation
Content labeled "AI Overview" or "AI Mode" is generated by an automated model. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it has not been reviewed, approved, or verified by a human before display. The label and accompanying disclaimer are intended to make its automated origin clear.
Two features use the model. The AI Overview is a short summary above search results. AI Mode (the AI Mode tab, or /chat/) is a conversation: each message you send, together with the earlier messages of that conversation and any topic you have chosen, is sent to the provider so it can answer in context. A conversation is limited to 10 messages; after that you start a new conversation. Conversations are kept only in your browser session and are discarded when you start a new chat or close the tab.
2. Information transmitted
AI-assisted answers are optional and disabled for a visitor unless the visitor enables that category through Privacy Choices. When enabled, the Service may transmit the search query, the current date, and a limited selection of search-result titles, sources, dates, hostnames, or snippets to the configured provider. Do not enable the feature or submit information you do not want transmitted to that provider.
The application sends AI requests by POST and does not place the query or your messages in the AI endpoint URL. AI Mode answers are not cached; the application may keep an operational log of each message (the text you sent, the site, the topic, token usage and cost) so the feature can be measured and abuse investigated. Application caching of AI Overview answers is disabled by default. If an operator enables caching, the application stores the normalized query text and generated response. The configured cache period controls reuse and does not automatically delete AI cache history.
If the request classifier identifies a browser as automated, the AI feature remains unavailable until the visitor completes the server-timed human press-and-hold check. That check grants only a bounded interactive-search allowance and does not authorize automated collection.
3. Provider processing
The configured provider processes the request to generate an answer. Provider locations, subprocessors, security practices, retention, and legally permitted uses are governed by the applicable service configuration, contract, and provider terms. 4Internet does not authorize use beyond providing and securing the contracted service, but users should review applicable provider disclosures before enabling AI-assisted answers.
4. Material limitations
AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated, internally inconsistent, or fabricated. Citations or attributed statements may be incorrect. Output does not necessarily represent the views of 4Internet or any identified source.
AI content is not medical, legal, financial, tax, investment, safety, emergency, or other professional advice. Independently verify material information using authoritative sources and qualified professionals. Do not use an AI overview as the sole basis for a decision affecting health, safety, liberty, legal rights, employment, housing, credit, insurance, education, or another significant interest.
5. No consequential automated decisions
4Internet does not use AI overviews to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning a user. Search classifications and rankings are informational tools and are not eligibility determinations.
6. Reporting a problem
Report materially inaccurate, unsafe, infringing, or misleading AI content through Contact Us. Include the query, the date, and a description or screenshot, but do not submit unnecessary sensitive information.
7. Your control
Withdrawal prevents future AI transmissions from that browser after the choice takes effect. The first-party search service remains available without AI-assisted answers.
